St Patrick’s Day starts a little early at The Spyglass this year with great live music from Scarecrow who will be playing on the evening of Saturday 16th March. Perfect to get you in the spirit before the, now famous, Spy St Pat’s breakfast.
Join us on the actual day, Sunday 17th March, for our annual St Patrick’s Day shenanigans.
Our doors swing open from 9.30am, with breakfast served shortly thereafter. It’s just £14.95 per person and includes a pint of Guinness served up alongside a full Irish breakfast. Booking for the breakfast is essential, but everyone is welcome from normal opening hours with the bar and kitchen open for business as usual.
We’ve got the amazing JC playing live from 11.30am with his band Folklore and dressing up (as always at The Spy) is positively encouraged, there’s even prizes for the best dressed.
Owner Neil Gibbs commented;
“Irish folk love music and know how to party like we do here at the Spyglass. We thought people would love the chance to celebrate with one of our legendary breakfasts too. It’s something a bit different and is very popular”
St Patrick’s Day is celebrated the world over, with people from all nations getting involved regardless of their heritage. What started as a commemorative day for the patron saint of Ireland has fast become a festivity celebrating the Irish culture. The world’s largest St Patrick’s Day parade takes place in New York City each year with an estimated 2m people attending.
